Important: In this block we will make the sleeveless version so we can complete the dress within the 3-week block. If you’re particularly keen on the sleeved version, please contact me to discuss.

Fabric suggestions

- Linen, linen blends and cotton are great beginner choices.

Fabric amounts (sleeveless version)

Take a look at the pattern to decide the length that you'd like to make:

- Short top: 1.0 – 1.6 metres

- Long top: 1.0 – 2.0 metres

- Super mini: 1.5 – 2.5 metres

- Long mini: 1.5 – 2.75 metres

- Knee: 1.75 – 3.25 metres

- Midi: 2.5 – 4.0 metres

- Maxi: 3.0 – 4.5 metres

Exact fabric amount depends on the size you’re making. If you’d like the exact amount, please contact me.

Notions

- Matching thread

- Mobilon elastic (optional, if you’d like to try elastic gathering. Otherwise we’ll use the traditional gathering method.)

(Thread and sewing notions can be purchased at Sewing Gem during class. Fabric needs to be purchased beforehand.)

The pattern and instruction booklet are provided from the pattern company as electronic PDFs. For convenience we have had the pattern professionally printed. The instruction booklet can be accessed on a phone and Sewing Gem Studio will keep a spare copy for any technical issues.
