About This Course
Join us to make the simple version of the Tadah Tea Party Dress, a timeless and versatile piece, perfect for any little person in your life! This class is a great introduction to garment sewing, teaching you essential skills while creating a beautiful, handmade outfit. You'll learn: 📏 Taking measurements and cutting the pattern 🧵 Sewing and finishing seams for a professional look ✨ Gathering techniques 📐 Hemming 🔘 Sewing buttons and buttonholes You will receive a copy of the pattern in sizes 6 months - 8 years and pattern instructions. The pattern includes a variety of neckline options, sleeve styles, and ruffle add-ons. Once you’ve mastered the basic version in class, you’ll be ready to customise future versions for special occasions, fancy dress costumes, and everyday wear! Over five 3-hour sessions (15 hours total), you'll gain the skills to create a special, handmade garment, whether for playtime, parties, or something extra fancy! We offer a course kit that includes carefully selected fabric (with a few options to choose from), matching thread, interfacing and buttons, available for purchase. However you may decide to bring your own supplies rather than purchase. If you decide to bring your own supplies here’s what you’ll need: Fabric (depending on size up to 1.7 metres Buttons (approx. 1.5cm diameter x 4-6 depending on the size of the dress) 25cm woven interfacing Matching thread scissors Seam ripper Pins Fabric marking pen 🧵Please note that access to the teaching space involves stairs. If you'd like assistance carrying your machine to the classroom, just let us know we’re happy to help. 🚗 Parking Street parking is available on the roads surrounding the building. Unfortunately we are unable to park on the forecourt as this is shared with other companies.

Confident using a sewing machine. Previous garment sewing experience recommended.
