Make Your Own Mule Tote

If you’ve got basic sewing skills under your belt (confidently covering everything from our Sewing for Absolute Beginners class), then this is the perfect next step! In this class, you'll learn to sew Kylie and the Machine’s fabulous Mule Tote, a versatile and roomy bag that comes in two different sizes, making it perfect for beach trips, overnight stays, or everyday use. You will receive the pattern and pattern instructions. Along the way, you’ll build your skills and confidence as we cover: 🧵 Flat-felled seams for a strong and professional finish 📏 Precision topstitching techniques 🎒 Constructing and attaching sturdy straps 📐 Working with different fabric weights for durability ✨ Finishing touches to elevate your handmade bag Over the course of three, 3-hour sewing sessions, you’ll create a beautiful and functional tote while learning techniques that will take your sewing to the next level. We offer a course kit that includes carefully selected fabric (with a few options to choose from), matching thread, webbing and sewing label available for purchase. And if you’re missing essential sewing supplies, we also have a Sewing Gem Basic Sewing Kit available for purchase [here] to get you fully equipped and ready to sew! However you may decide to bring your own supplies rather than purchase either or both The Mule Tote Kit or The Beginners Sewing Kit. If you decide to bring your own supplies here’s what you’ll need: Fabric scissors Seam ripper Pins Fabric marking pen 1 metre of light to mid-weight woven fabrics (such as cotton twill, canvas, chambray, quilting cotton or mid-weight linen). If you'd like assistance carrying your machine to the classroom, just let us know we’re happy to help. 🚗 Parking Street parking is available on the roads surrounding the building. Unfortunately we are unable to park on the forecourt as this is shared with other companies. Please note that minimum numbers per class need to to be reached for the class to go ahead.
